Abigail Lee is a doctoral student in the Department of Animal Science at Texas A&M University, where her research focuses on equine biology, gene editing, and cell culturing in animal science. Abigail earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Texas A&M University in 2023 and completed her Master of Science in Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communications at the same institution in 2025. Her master’s thesis explored predictors of student performance in rigorous STEM-based animal science courses, combining educational research with data analytics to enhance instructional design.
Abigail’s academic and professional work is rooted in both scientific inquiry and applied animal care. She shares her life with her fiancé and a menagerie of beloved animals—2 dogs, 3 cats, 9 ducks, 5 geese, and 2 mules—whose daily presence inspires her dedication to improving animal welfare and performance through science.
Abigail’s passion for equids—particularly mules and donkeys—will extend into her doctoral research. Her ultimate goal is to advance innovative, humane solutions for working and companion mules and donkeys.
