I started as a Ph.D. student in Animal Genetics in January 2023 and joined the Clark lab in the fall of 2024. I am focusing on bovine congestive heart failure. My research investigates specific risk and resiliency alleles that influence susceptibility to this condition. By identifying and understanding these genetic variants, I aim to improve overall cattle health by identifying key genetic factors that influence disease risk. My broader goal is to leverage genetic knowledge to guide breeding strategies that foster healthier, more sustainable herds over time.
In my free time, I enjoy photographing weddings and Texas A&M seniors, as well as showing my horse Everest at stock shows. I also love going fishing with my husband and our dogs, and spending time in the kitchen baking sourdough and chocolate chip cookies.
