Welcome Emily Thornton

Emily Thornton joined the lab officially in January as a new PhD student in the Interdisciplinary Genetics and Genomics program. We are glad to have her on the team. She will be aiding in our zebrafish resource project while working to produce new mutants in fatty-acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) genes in zebrafish.

Emily and Islyn sorting fish in tanks on a black cart in our zebrafish facility.

Here Emily is sorting some fish based on pigment pattern along with Islyn. We use dominant leopards for a lot of our crosses to help students (and even me when they let me work with the fish) make sure they put fish back where they belong.
